You guys heard of Kopimism?
Its a religion that has recently been formally recognised in Sweeden, it is simmilar to "pastafarian" (those who belive in the flying spaghetti monster in the sky)
except the central tennets of Kopimism are file sharing or general charing of information,

This looks like the information-age deity...better hope it has something cruel in store for us like, for example, an eternity putting up with blue screens of death and being forced to wrangle some use out of Microsoft Absurd (with non-stop harassment by the ever annoying "Clippy" )

It's all a parody, karoly, you will find no "eternal truths" there.
Also I am familiar with the author of this thread and the sort of angle she's coming from with this. She didn't just look it up and think "hey this is cool , maybe I should put it up in spirituality" . There's more to it than that.
I believe there is a great message there for everyone. Christianity isn't threatened (not that you were implying this) , rather I think diversity and reinvention of our language is important for a rolling stone gathers no moss. Also if you stagnate too much then you will lose a lot of young people who would be more interested in Christianity if you showed some interest in their ideas. After all, it seems harmless and is basically a statement, recognized by the government, to give the world another bow in it's string to shoot into the heart of some dazzling "truths"/insights- on more levels than one. Again, I think Christianity could be helped by such movements as these.
Anyway , if Christianity is relevant to our society, and the up and coming youth, then it must be in touch with the word and the changes in it, otherwise people will know and see through any false , irrelevant ideologies . Basically the outdated stuff will be confined to history books and nothing more (except maybe databases🙂 )
As for eternal truths why have you put inverted commas around it? I would thought for a Christians there were some eternal truths that you could understand for yourself.
Do you think you could mention one or two eternal truths? (I nearly put inverted commas myself there... HMmmm )
idk, i guess it is interesting to look at the feelings and statistics about religion in the next generation, in my predictions within the next few decades atheism will be the majority~ its already about 35% in Australia, and over 50 percent of people under 35
christianity is trending down in this generation, possibly to do with the wealth or information we all have access to now
internet culture is very atheistic (i mean the type that young ppl do, like reddit and anonymous and what not)
