    Me neither, since the expression has come to mean what it was supposed to mean (if that makes sense). We read "take up your cross" metaphorically (except for the gentleman encountered by aspviper666). I guess the anachronism says more about Bible translation than about what Jesus had to say.

    Yes,that was why i scoffed at the poor guy carrying a cross.
    I think he missed the point,but in doing so,he also hit the nail on the head.He was an attention getter,and he preached fervently.hard to imagine a larger cross to bear than the riddicule of others.Yet he was always cheerful and full of life.
    Maybe an example of faith becoming flesh???Or a blind pig finding an acorn???Hard to tell,but i must admit i still am impressed by his literal
    translation of the KJV bible.Ill bet he is one of those snake cult xians by now anyways.
