It's a mistake to ignore any scripture if you wish to understand it, however, it's also a mistake not to try and understand it in context as well. Clearly Paul did not believe women to be inferior. There is a difference between assuming a role and being inferior. Although certain roles may be deemed inferior, they are equals. In fact, Christ once said that in order to lead you must assume the inferior role of servant. One cannot come before the other, or at least should not.
