I watched about a 20 minutes of videos on aperture trying to envision what you were talking about. It is a term to describe the size of the openness of the hole through which the light comes.
I still don't get it that this could cause shadows on the landscape.

They think things are fake despite all the evidence for.
They think things are true simply because they believe them. That in itself is more than enough evidence for them to convince themselves. Anything contrary to such beliefs is not real and/or suspect.
Think the fact that so many Christians are Trump supporters is mere coincidence?
