Meaning that origin of the Genesis legend is something that Moses picked up in Egypt during captivity. No, that we should not forget.
Moses was never in captivity, numbnuts.

And he wasn't in Egypt either? Because it was there he picked up the Genesis tale...

He was in Eqypt alright as the adopted son of the Queen of Eqypt. And you don't know much about Genesis either, because you have never read it, numbnuts.

I am proud of being called dumbnuts by a creationist. Because that makes me smarter than he.

I know that your genesis is a old Egyptian legend. I know that it is written a thousand years before your so-called creation. I know that you don't know, because it is too scary for you to give up your precious myth of yours.

You might want to think twice about arguing with RJ about the actual contents of the Bible, you can pretty much rely on him knowing it quite well.

Incidentally the Book of Genesis first reports interaction with Egypt in the Abram/Abraham stories. So there was plenty of time to pick up the odd creation myth. The standard theory however is that the creation myth is actually based on the Mesopotamian myth.

You are referring to the scholars estimate of the completion of the Old Testament. The first book written down was Genesis and is attributed to Moses by biblical scholars, and it is the one that contains the creation account. The book of Genesis existed long before all the books were completed and compiled into what we now call the Old Testament.

Also M ...[text shortened]... of the Exodus: 1446 BC

No I'm referring to the Torah. The whole thing was written after the return from exile.

I found this on Mesopotamian creation myths but in this tract at least I don't see anything similar to the Egyptian one.

But still, we can all (?) agree to that the biblical legends has an origin pre-dating Abraham and Moses and the rest of the crew with thousands of years.

The Egyptians probably had more than one creation myth, polytheistic religions tend not to worry so much about inconsistencies. When you first mentioned the Egyptian myth I was wondering about it. That influence had faded by 500BC, the Hebrews returning from exile will have been more influenced by the Babylonians. Wikipedia isn't the worlds greatest source, but I think this page gives a reasonable description of mainstream thinking:

Nice, the commentator becoming the comment. He is trying to put words in people's mouths, speaking to people on the street instead of looking at actual evidence and reading the papers. Another political based video. Why am I not surprised this is all you can come up with, asssholes trying to lead the interviewees?

He may not be the most intelligent Jewish Christian to be leading interviews but I think he got the point across in the end.

Yes he certainly did. Left the distinct impression of all those he interviewed that he is a complete ass.

They also got the point across that evolution and billions of years was not science, but a belief system.

They didn't get any point across to anyone who has learned to think for themselves and think critically. Something you lost decades ago.
