@Ghost-of-a-Duke

Do Christians believe that Jesus is God ?

You seem eager Ghost.

Do Christians believe that the New Testament reveals that Jesus is God ?

I am not insterested in sneaking up on anyone.
I am interested in showing the reasonableness of the belief in deification.

There is caution here and some of you don't want to rush on carelessly into what you might regret saying latter.

Make a deal. Who wants to see where I might be going with the four questions and the question above ? I am more interested in the curiosity if believers in the Bible here rather than career opposers to it.

Ask me "Where are you going with 2 Cor. 4:7?" then.
I don't want to over labor for no reason.

Bump for sonship.

Irrelevant.
This is just -
Move goal post to the east then to the west - move and move again the goal post. Move it around over here and then over there.

How many Christians here believe God doesn't exist ?

How is it irrelevant, in a thread about deification deniers, that everybody posting denies it?

I think I am being pretty gracious.

A few questions to deniers of deification:

The Aposle Paul wrote "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God and not out of us." ( 2 Cor. 4:7 RcV)

1.) What is the - this treasure ?

2.) What is the power?

3.) Paul says "the excellency of the power". Why not just so-so in quality? Why is there with the power an "excellency?"

4.) The power is "of God and not out of us". But he also says "WE HAVE". So who is in possession of the excellency of the power - just God or God and the "WE" of the believers ? Ie. "We have this treasure"

Four questions to which I would appreciate your thoughts on all four.

Is Jesus believed to be God ?

Where is this going ? Who asks?

sonship is so wrapped up in himself that he thinks an atheist familiar with the Bible can't call sonship out for being a shill for an ideological charlatan pretentiously piggybacking on an otherwise remarkably simple ideology/theology.

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God and no out of us." (2 Cor. 4:7)

Does this verse pertain to ALL Christians or only to some elite, selective small subset of believers?

Is there any reason why we should think "We have this treasure . . . " is restricted to only Paul and his few companions?

Or is the Apostle Paul arguing for ANY and ALL believers in Jesus Christ ?

My bet is that Paul was saying in essence - "This is not true JUST for me. This is true for all of us who believe in Christ."

That's my bet.
What's your view?

My view is that Witness Lee was a pretentious technocrat preying on vulnerable people gagging for convoluted bish bash bosh theology.

@FMF

And your view of Paul writing "We have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God and not out of us" is about . . . the same.

Big deal.
Ask me what minute percentage of a damn I give about your view.

I think you are too much of a narcissistic Christian to give a damn about what ANYONE thinks about your numb blogging, aside from you yourself

Okay Christians. Are you happy to have atheist Ghost of a Duke and agnostic atheist FMF speak up for you as your spokepersons ?

That would be like asking the serpent in the Garden of Eden to lead us on a Bible study.

That would be like voting to have Judas Iscariot conduct a seminar on Christian discipleship.

My view on this was posted pages and pages ago. You blanked it out. It interrupted your monologue. I interpreted your elicitations as sincere, but they were bogus.

@FMF

You blanked it out.

That would be putting it mildly.
