In the Recovery Version the other ways the word Author may be translated are:
Captian, Originator, Inaugurator, Leader, Pioneer.
I don't recognize the Recovery Version.

Something should be said to address this fearful implication of your criticism.
How disingenuous.

Your claim of deification warrants criticism, which has been made here by atheists and Christians alike.

You abuse scripture.

It is too bad some people don't read the book of Hebrews.

Two truths can run concurrently.
Christ can have a more excellent name and yet have partners.

"For we have become patners of Christ, if indeed we hold fast the beginning of the assurance firm to the end - " (Heb. 3:14)

He can have "partners" yet be exalted high over and above them.

"You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness, therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy above Your partners." (Heb 1:9)

Thoough He has partners and brothers He still is their HIgh Priest and Captain exultant above them and worthy of more honor.

Dweification of the believers does not dimenish the honorability of the Leader, the Firstborn Son of God. Ghost is grasping at straws to be the Christianity defending atheist.

Christ is said to be worthy of more honor then the house.
The house is man made the dwelling place of God.
The Builer of the house is God.
To be clear the Bulder of the house of God is God incarnate as a man in Hebrews.

But He is the cornerstone of this house of God.
He is the topstone of this house of God.
He is the foundation stone of this house of God.

He is the one producing the building material for this house of God.
And He is the Builder of the dwelling place of God in spirit.

Yet He has MORE HONOR than the house.

"Therefore, holy brothers [brothers of the holy Son of God]
partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus.

Who was faithful to Him who constitited Him, as also Moses was in all His house.

For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Msses, by as much as He who built the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God." (Heb. 3:1-4)

1.) Christ is greater than Moses.
2.) Moses build a house but Christ builds the ultimate house of God.
3.) Christ as the Apostle and High Priest is also God the Builder.
4.) He is part of this house of a dwelling place of God in man. yet He is counted with more honor than the house.

In His deification and our following deification and builkding up with Him He still has more honor.

Christians here have openly called your deification claims blasphemous.

No atheist required.

You seem to think that by stressing Jesus has a greater deification somehow mitigates your own claim of deification.

It doesn't. This whole demigod nonsense is not supported by Christian scripture. It is born of human arrogance directly at odds with the Christian message of humility.

If you are going to play defender of evangelical Christianity, than at least go read through the book of Hebrews.
Going only on your past vague memories of long discarded Sunday School lessons is inadaquate. Learn what is written there in the NT why don't you?

Are you trying to say here that some people should be treated like a god? I'm sorry, but I cannot seem to follow this thread from the beginning. Maybe it's my missing brain cells. Please explain your understanding of "deification"?
On a side note, Ghost-of-a-Duke knows the Bible well; probably as well as you or I.

Claiming to be like God or wanting to be God is the occupation of the mind of Satan.

Agreed. It's also "the occupation of the mind of" many Christians that think they are above everyone else. From what I have experienced over and over, is seeing people who come to believe that they are some great Prophet or something. That they are above all other Christians; and others, of course.
Almost every Christian church or denomination thinks that they are above all other Christian denominations; and they preach that all other denominations are hell-bound. It's interesting to say the least.

Proverbs 16:18 [King James Version]
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Sorry sonship, which one of us has a degree in theology? (Psst, it isn't you).

You're the one with a shaky/corrupt understanding of the NT, the one who tries (poorly) to squeeze in non biblical concepts like God-ized and other blasphemous nonsense.

To be honest I see many Christians bashing non Christians. All people are going to be judged by the same yardstick. Sonship for example here can talk all day about God and faith and becoming God, but that is of no value on judgment day. Any Good Samaritan [regardless of religion] will see the Kingdom of God before those who just talk.
