    Simple Question

If any male and female can create human (as opposed to biological) life in an act of sex, why don't we sing Happy Conception Day to You?

I am sure you can sing whatever you want, the reason you don't is a matter of tradition - which has many reasons behind it.

    "Happy birthday to you.
    We're glad you had Two.
This day and the best day,
    When Jesus saved you."

That is how some of the Christian young people in Boston use to sing it.

    Because that would be perverted.

Anyhow, it's not possible to know when exactly fertilization occurs.

I disagree with the notion that life begins at fertilization, by the way.

It's a lot harder to pin down the conception day/time.

Oooh, is it to completely shelter children from the idea that sex is a normal thing for consenting adults to do?

If you believe in reincarnation, then life began before conception

I can think of a few good reasons:

    1. No child wants a yearly reminder of the fact that their parents banged each other.
    2. We already have one annual song [Happy Birthday] that is routinely mangled by bad singers at restaurants, family gatherings, etc.
    3. Calling attention to the fact that conception day was before the wedding day could prove embarrassing.
    4. Would invite parody songs: "Happy Condom-broke Day To You".

    1.Is that so? Why not?
2.Thats cool. its more the spirit of the song than the rendering.
3.Maybe for some. its only their interpretaion that its embaressing. Being embarresed is good for the Spirit.
