Something for nothing

Spirituality

2000+ years ago, and innocent man was beaten, whipped, nailed to a cross and died a very painful death. He died for you, so you may live in paradise for all eternity in the hereafter of your life. All he asks, is that you believe...

Something for nothing - A simple concept, but for some so difficult to accept. Why is this?
The story doesn't inspire me.

I can't help you with that.
A classic sonship non-conversation.

@BigDogg
When you come to the Spirituality Forum what do you hope to happen?

Are you seeking any inspiration from another kind of world view perhaps?

Why do you drop by the Spirituality Forum?
Or maybe that's too personal and none of my business?
Teach me.

Do you drop by to have people like me confirm for you that the Bible is poppycock and you're on the right track to ignore it?

Who inspires you much much more than Jesus Christ ?
Just answer me that and I'm out of your face here for today.

Whose life and words inspire you much more than Jesus?

C'mon Dogg. You won your argument.
I'm outta here for now.

Just tell me WHO is it that really inspires you more than Jesus of the Gospels?
I mean you see or read or hear or know about someone else and say - "Now THIS person, he or she REALLY inspires me."

How leaves Jesus in the dust for you when it comes to being inspired?
I'm trounced. You've dismissed me.
Just tell me to who ELSE you derive impressive contemplation from as to that person's life and words.

A1: I look for interesting discussions.

A2: Not particularly, though I have been pleasantly surprised on occasion.

A3: See A1.

A4: There's no deep dark secret in play. See A1.

A5: No. I have no issue with the Bible as a whole. I just interpret it differently than many theists and literalists.

Meh, winning arguments. Not that important.

Okay, you lost. You broke even. Whatever.

You are far more impressed with who in life than Jesus Christ of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John?

Monty Python, the lead guitarist of Pink Floyd, Einstein, Confucius, yourself, who?

I am not "gleefully" looking condescendingly at unbelievers in the good news.

My thought many times is "That could be me right now."
And I wonder how and why the Holy Spirit gave me the ability to believe the New
Testament.

I do not have any more faith than anyone else.
Somehow I know where to go in order for my faith to be caused to grow.

If ...[text shortened]... soul was important.

Somehow I think He's more wise than that. I mean we are dealing with God.
You sound both gleeful and condescending as you scatter your nuggets of scorn gleaned from your greater understanding upon us poor unbelievers. This is not something you'll notice from a teacher, regardless of their beliefs. You, I think, may actually be the opposite of a teacher.

Condescending? You mean like every non-christian who has posted to this thread?

Hello Pot. Lots of pots in this thread.

@sonship said
Do you know some more qualified teacher who could ?
You said you doubted I could be any kind of teacher on these things.

A more capable teacher of this who could help me to gain more enjoyment of Christ is who ?
You're gonna need a bigger Paraclete. 😉

Condescension in argument is to be expected. Not a good teaching style, however.
