"Supreme Court rules in favor of Catholic foster care agency that refused to work with same-sex couples." [CNN]

This is a good thing for religious freedom, right, and for religious people who want to create organizations guided by the principles of their faith, yes?

Or...?

It should be pointed out that six of those nine judges are Catholic.

I don't understand this ruling. Can a church legally discriminate against women the way they ruled you can with gay couples? Can they reference Biblical texts where women are suppose to "stay silent" and aren't allowed to teach?

Are the Catholic foster agencies the only option?

How should Catholics express their views and their bottom lines?

That's irrelevant. If an organization discriminates against women, you don't say "well, just go elsewhere".

Irrelevant. That's like saying "work somewhere else if you think we're sexist".
What's your advice for Catholics on this issue?

They still can, from their churches, pulpits, Catholic broadcasts, etc. That right is not infringed.

But when it comes to offering public services, you can't discriminate based on sexual orientation, just like you can't discriminate based on race.

So how should people with Catholic perspectives organize?

Why not?

It's illegal, for one. It's immoral, for another.
