JMHO - Very little. Labor saving devices and instant information gratification have obvious advantages but have also contributed to the problems of obesity, short attention spans, and increased isolation - not exactly recipes for happiness.

Technology has facilitated a new phase in my life where I am more connected ~ in substantial interpersonal ways ~ to my family and to friends past and present. The communication channels and access to information have made my work activities less laborious and more satisfying. My major hobbies, which give me immense pleasure, are pretty much all made possible, in practical terms, by technology that I didn't have access to or scarcely existed 20 years ago.

When the person who invented fire sat down with his friends and family to enjoy it’s mesmerising warming licks, he probably wasn’t thinking of a Molotov cocktail as the first upgrade.

IT is a mixed bag.

It is a step forward and a step backward - or something like that.

No one can deny benifits of happiness to advanced technology.
And it is hard to deny undesireable side effects and by products come along WITH the benefits.

That is an objective viewpoint.

@FMF
Technology has diluted and censored human experience in a way that normalizes all sorts of negative, harmful behaviour.
