Technically it is called a 'diversion thread to pretend the Witness Lee thread isn't happening.'

@divegeester

Is she by any chance a member of your church group and a follower of the teachings of witness Lee?

My church is the same church that Peter, John, Luther, Calvin, and every Christian great or small is a member of - the church.

Any Christian brother or sister is a constituent of "my church".

The way the apostles established plural "churchES" is by localities - one local assembly for all the believers in a locality.

Some of us have just sought to return to that way of meeting and found it better than any man made denominating of us into other kinds of "churches".

The local church is not another church from the church universal. The local church is the local expression of the church universal in the God ordained way of one city for one church and one church for one city.

What you see write in a book and send it to the seven churches:
to Ephesus,
and to Smyrna,
and to Pergamos,
and to Thyatira,
and to Sardis,
and to Philadelphia,
and to Laodicea.

And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me and having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands One like the son of Man, ... " [/b]

See Revelation 1:11,12.

The local ground is the way OUT of denominational divisions.

Your inability to answer yet another simple question is noted.

Why do you start crappy threads and then get upset when they don’t pan out how you would have liked.

How did you envisage this one panning out?

What ?? I expect you to come into every thread with some substance and graffiti it up with your wise cracks.

I'd be mighty surprised if your didn't show up with your few knee jerk cynical remarks. Its only a matter of counting a few moments.

It’s not my fault that your thread has the traction of a slug on a tray of salt.

No, its just your fault for being so slimmy.
Now go find some atheists to buddy, buddy up with.

You're a great traction giver to them.

Surely you have some atheist friends as well?

Reviving this thread on this faithful servant of God Mary. E. McDonough.

Ms McDonough tell us something about what the Bible means that God made man in His own image and according to His own likeness.

God is a thinking, choosing, loving Being, and all of His activities are for the realization of a well-defined purpose which shall completely satisfy His heart; therefore in creating man in His image, we may clearly see that He created him a being capable of making a definite choice concerning a perceived goal which should completely satisfy the longing of his heart as well as the heart of God.

Mary McDonough on Genesis 1:26,27 -

"And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven, and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. (v.26)

And God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (v.27)

MAN CREATED IN THE "IMAGE" OF GOD

What is meant by "image" and "likeness"? As we study this expression we see that these two words are not synonymous; the former word refers more especially to the invisible part of man - the inner man - while the latter indicates the visible part, i.e., the outer man or body. The inner man was in some way created like God; we may reverently say, patterned after Him; yet how and to what extent we need to understand.

Let us carefully examine this subject, remembering that the failure to correctly interpret this passage is the root of error of many systems of religious and philosophical thought.
