I can read and know that is a hotly debated topic. For you to say differently is a falsehood.

"Can" and "do" are different things.

Let's relive that Kodac moment again, shall we?

I would think the females genes would prefer an utterly selfish mate as that one would have even better selfish genes to successfully replicate.

So, altruistic behaviour is about maximising the numbers of copies of your genes you pass on then? [coughs]

That was sarcasm, Mr. Genius.

Sure altruistic behavior has an evolutionary benefit; I never said it didn't. It just ain't for the reasons you claim.

And if it's an evolutionary benefit its about maximising copies of genes. And if its about that, then it's genetically selfish. Back to your sandpit now Marauder.

I've provided links but you're too incredibly narrowminded and stubborn to accept that anything but your position is a valid scientific one. Sad.

That's a circular argument. Those are logically invalid. Sorry, you lose.

EDIT: It's also the Fallacy of Equivocation with the word "selfish". Your whole argument is based on two fallacies. How embarrassing for you!

Not at all. You're just resorting to playground tactics now. Why don't you stick your fingers in your ears, that'll help!

Of course it is. The premise is contained in the conclusion. Go back to school.

YOU said that you think altruism has evolutionary benefit. If that is the case then it must be about increasing the gene frequency - therefore, it is genetically selfish.

Why not just take your beating like a man, maintain some dignity.

You are just committing the Fallacy of Equivocation. But then you are claiming that not only are persons "genetic selfish", but that they selfish in reality. Why else talk about Communism?

I really don't care; IF your definition is that ANYTHING that leads to evolutionary advantage is "genetically selfish", so be it. However, my point in this thread is that humans are hotwired for altruism and cooperation; so much so that they engage in acts of altruism without any expectation of reciprocation all the time. I regard your "explanations" for this undisputed fact to be contrived and ridiculous. Firemen rush into buildings thinking that it will help them get laid? Idiotic.
