Most theophonies in the Bible can hardly be described as beatific.

In the OT, if an angel visited you, you were dead or probably wished you were. Often, but not quite so much, personal visits by God yielded the same results.

The visit upon Saul by Jesus in Acts 9 certainly started out unpleasant. See Jesus, go blind...I'm thinking Saul had better days...

I personally would be quite leery of a visit. I'm certain the result for me would be equally unpleasant.
