This book was finished before the foundations of the world.
So if your name is not in it what would be the point of doing good works?
Example what if the present Popes name was not in it. Then all his deeds would be in vain!

Good works and righteous living is proof that you have the spirit of Christ in you. A lack of good works and a sinful lifestyle is proof that you are carnally minded. Paul says:
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:5-8 KJV)

So that is what you think this is all about! You think anyone who does a
good work is of God?

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:7-12 KJV)

If you believe stuff is written down before it happens
you are going to get into problems with
* time travel paradoxes
or
* freewill
or
* both
and the arguments have all been done to death. 😴

But those that don't even know about the Bible who do good works don't have the Spirit of God living in them!

The Spirit of God was around for eons.
How long as the Bible been around?
Do you claim to know who has the Spirit of God or the Spirit of Christ in them?
Or do you know who God has given his spirit to?

The word of God says you will know them by their fruits! The word of God has been passed down by word-of-mouth until it was given to Moses. And maybe it could've been written down. Because they had to tell each other's generations about the past.

I see that God sent His Son that we might live through Him, which is what I
have been saying. What is it that you see here?

What the Bible refers to as 'love' is more appropriately called brotherly love which is basically the same as charity or good works. They are all the same.
You said You think anyone who does a good work is of God?
Then I quoted this :
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. And all you see in that statement by John is
God sent His Son that we might live through Him.
I will help you out here and after this Im well and truly done. You cannot discuss fairly and honestly if you cannot read and understand simple statements [apparently a lot of posters have this problem with you.
John says:
1. that we must love each other because love [also called brotherly love, charity and good works] is of God.
2. those who do these things are of God and they know God.
3. those who do not do these things do not know God
4. Gods love for us is shown by sending his Son Jesus to die for our sins, so that we can have eternal live.
5. if God loved us then we should also love each other
6. if we show brotherly love and charity to our neighbour then God dwels in us.

Im done. I have about 60 games waiting to be played.

So for you Jesus is some generic theme in which loves includes everyone?
Jesus in not a specific person we must go to for God's forgiveness?
