I think one of the reason God gave us the other planets was that we might compare our lovely earth to them.
Of course it is foolish to think God didn't foresee the advance of technology. That is that with time man would be able to harness various laws of nature to do such things as SEE other worlds and even GO to other worlds.
I think of course God watches over all advancement of human knowledge. He foresaw our telescopes, satellites, rockets, and whatever the future technology now unknown, may bring. But being transcendent over all time, God just awaited for man to COMPARE his earth with Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, (and Pluto the demoted planet). By comparison it dawns upon human beings more and more how utterly privileged his home world is.
We need all these worlds. Yet we do not need them for the same thing. Thank God that Jupiter sucks up so many large objects plunging into the solar system which could destroy the earth.
Thank God for such a unusually sized and positioned Moon to stabilize the earth as she moves within her "Godilocks Zone" of habitability.

Earthlings owe their very existence, not to God or Mars, but to Jupiter who's movements in the early days of the solar system allowed the Earth the opportunity to fully form and who's ongoing gravitational field continues to protect us from the nasties in the universe.
All hail Jupiter.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidPraise Jupiter. The Giver of Life to all on this planet!!!

Jupiter, our eternal savior, all glory to you !!
Turn an AM radio to 1600 and the words of Jupiter can be heard by all !!
@sonship saidSorry sir, but more chance of the green tank top making a comeback.
As we move more into the 21rst century the God hypothesis is destined to make a comeback.
Look for Stephen Meyer's soon to be released new book:
The Return of the God Hypothesis
@sonship saidI understand you will always hold to your heretical beliefs.

But I must point out that our great savior Jupiter can be seen in the Heavens and can be heard on any AM radio at 1600.
I fear that blasphemous talk will anger our Savior.
Your pagan god cannot be seen or even heard.
Praise Jupiter !
I predict that we will not only realize the benefits of the presence of the planet Jupiter in our solar system, but of all the planets.
These are predictions made by Hugh Ross arguing that it is wrong to say Creationism makes no predictions. He makes some. And every month he documents how his predictions are coming to pass.
Even our galaxy is special according to Ross.
Even the local group of galaxies seems privileged.
@sonship saidOkay, let's put our evidence on the table. I can provide conclusive proof that Jupiter exists and that it was fundamental to the formation of our planet and continues to protect us.

Can you do the same for your particular God?
