John 17 is a prayer, but it is not the Lord's prayer - the Lord's prayer is found at Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4.

genius,

Whose prayer is the prayer in John 17 then?

To whom does that prayer belong and who made it?

Quite right. And don't Catholics call it: "The Our Father"?
No it's not quite right. Neither at Catholic Mass or in Catholic Bible Study do Catholics exclude the ending to the "Our Father"

All the Catholics that I have known call it the "Our Father"

And none of the services I have attended have ever ended with the doxology.

So, I think that is a general rule.
No, there is no rule against it in Catholic Churches.

Yeah, I was raised Catholic and we never said that part. The first time I heard it spoken that way I was really confused.
