Our Father,who art in heaven, (we are son’s and daughters of a creator)
hallowed be thy name; (the name of god is important)
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven. (God will eventually again rule on earth)
Give us this day our daily bread. (God provides the essentials for life)
And forgive us our trespasses, (ask for forgiveness)
as we forgive those who trespass against us. (Forgive other people)
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil. (Try not to have negative or bad thoughts about yourself or others)
For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory
for ever and ever. (God is sovereign past present and future and responsible for it all no matter what)
Amen. (And so be it)

@divegeester saidI don't have a problem with this.

@divegeester saidYour interpretation is spot on. It is also worth noting that many Christian churches have departed from this one of Christ's teachings. It is not really an option, but a kind of requirement to pray along these lines. Jesus gave this prayer and said to pray like this, and churches almost never do. Instead they pray just like how Jesus said not to pray :

hallowed be thy name; (the name of god is important)
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven. (God will eventually again rule on earth)

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. (Matthew 6:5-8 KJV)
