The character "Q" in Start Trek Picard S02E08: Am I immortal? So I believed. But now, as I look for the first time across the temporal horizon, it darkens. You think I am dying? I prefer to believe I am on the threshold of the unknowable. When I first felt it, I thought, this is good, this is new. Infinite life, after all, has its drawbacks. And so I prepared myself to be enveloped in the warm glow of meaning.

@fmf saidI remember that one. Q is one of my all time favorite Star Trek characters. His comment "I am on the threshold of the unknowable" could in reality mean, I am on the threshold of the undiscovered. Perhaps without challenges or new discoveries, all beings will stagnate.

Q's silly style contrast's perfectly with Picard's stiff, buttoned - down demeanor. 🙂
