According to Paul, these are teachings from people which lead to ungodliness, disobedience and failure to keep the commandments.
Eph_5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
1Ti 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
1Ti 1:6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
1Ti_6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
2Ti_2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
There are Christians who engage in these vain babblings and janglings. The doctrine of faith only and nothing else is one such example, as this clearly leads people away from the commandments of Christ.
@sonship saidThe law there refers to the Law of Moses. When have I ever referred to the Law of Moses? You just cannot help but display your gross stupidity and ignorance.
Rajk999, you really desire to be a teacher of the law, don't you?
" ... Desiring to be teachers of the law, ..."
I refer to the keeping of the commandments of Christ which is critical to eternal life. You engage in vain babblings and janglings which as Paul said encourage people to disobey these commandments. The end of your teachings is death.
@Rajk999
Okay, from now on I will understand you strictly only mean commandments of Christ. Let's say Matthew chapters 5 though 7 for example.
Paul said encourage people to disobey these commandments.
Where ?
I expect not blank space and long time after this post.
I expect your definite example of Paul teaching to disobey the commandments of Christ.
If you fail to locate and publish your examples - you are a liar.
Not mistaken - No, a liar.
Go!
@sonship saidYou must be a special kind of idiot. I said
@sonship
Folks this is one way possibly to stop the "vain babblings".
That is ask the babbler to point out where the Apostle Paul taught anyone to disobey the commandments of Jesus Christ.
WHERE ?
You engage in vain babblings and janglings which as Paul said encourage people to disobey these commandments. The end of your teachings is death.
@Rajk999
Thankyou for the obvious DEMONSTRATION. You CANNOT back up your lying bluster. You CANNOT show the world where Paul taught Christians to disobey the commandments of Christ.
Thanks.
I only want to know one thing from you now.
You live in Trinidad.
Do you know how to play a steel drum ?
@sonship saidYou did not misread the post. You removed part of a sentence and asked me to explain what that part on its own meant. You are a pathetic loser. You cannot even read and understand simple English. How can you read and understand the bible which is far more complex. All you are capable of doing is regurgitating like a mindless parrot the writings of men. The teachings of Christ fly right over your head.You engage in vain babblings and janglings which as Paul said encourage people to disobey these commandments. The end of your teachings is death.
He is right that I misread his post.
See Please advize me thread.
I have moved this from the other thread. You said
These are just a few of the verses from Paul which I find I often return to.
Which one I vain babbling? Which one have I used to encourage anyone to disobey Christ's commands ?
None of your 10 favourite verses from Paul, deals with the life of the Christian which as Paul said must be in keeping with the commandments of Christ ie doing good works, avoiding sin and living righteously. Your 10 verses are cherry picked to encourage the Christian to practice mouth worship - your faith alone and nothing else doctrine aka DEAD FAITH.
Here is one passage that you NEVER EVER QUOTE. [And there are many like these that you ignore], which speaks of the living faith
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. (Ephesians 5:1-6 KJV)
Paul says to practice the living faith in Christ which is living righteously, avoiding sin and going good works otherwise there is NO INHERITANCE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
The interesting part comes after. Paul warns not to allow any man to deceive you with vain words [You and your faith alone and nothing else doctrine would be such vain words], which discourage people from keeping the commandments of Christ. The wrath of God will come upon those who are disobedient. Faith alone saves nobody

Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
