My wife loves me. This involves (thought it is not exhausted by) emotion. Fond feelings, enthusiasm, sympathy, pity--that sort of thing.
Allegedly, God also loves me. If so, does his love for me really not involve emotion? If it doesn't, what sense can I attach to the phrase "God loves me"?

Do all theists agree that God does not emote?
Didn't He say, "Jacob have I loved, but Esau I have hated"?
