Whoever it was they had "bewitched" the churches in Galatia to the point that they seemed to forget or disregard that Christ had been crucified for them. Christ had been clearly and openly portrayed to them as dying a redemptive death on His cross.
Latter to recover them from the evil spell like witch's influence he writes -
"Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse for us . . ."
This evil teacher was trying to eradicate from their understanding the importance of Christ's redemptive death.
@sonship saidSo whats the point now? Christians have no law? They just get to do as they please?

@sonship saidI think we are all aware that nobody benefits from what you write and you write for yourself. You are a big mouth narcissist who likes to make himself feel important. So the question still needs to be answered.
@Rajk999
I have no point for you as I am not writing anything for your benefit.
Christians like you believe you are under no law, neither the Law of Moses nor the Law of Christ. You believe that your profession of faith in Christ relieves you of that burdensome task of living righteously and doing good works. You are happy that you do not have to go feed the poor, clothe the naked and give of your time and resources to help others. Your doctrine allows you to live as you please committing acts of evil without consequences. Essentially you are a greedy selfish prick, a wolf in sheep's clothing, selling your doctrine of mouth worship to the foolish and the gullible. Let me know if I left out anything.
@fmf saidMaybe I am writing for the angels.
For whom ARE you writing?
Maybe its for the sake of some who are destined to get hardened more and more,
so that they will be really hardened on that day.
"Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse on our behalf; because it is written, Cursed is everyone hanging on a tree?"
Whatever effect that has on you, that is the effect is has produced.
I am satisfied with that. God's word does not return void.
@sonship saidYou are the only person who has disagreed so much with the New Testament, and has resorted to much ignoring what you dont like, twisting what contradicts your doctrine, manipulating text to suit your preference and fabricating new doctrines. Your doctrine bears no resemblance to the teachings of Christ and the Apostles.
If every last person on this Forum, including myself, frowns in disagreement at the New Testament, it doesn't change the truth of the New Testament.
Just a few examples:
1. Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. This is the longest teaching of Christ which tells people in detail what to DO to get eternal life in the Kingdom of God
YOU : Ignore. As it involves doing good works and righteousness
2. Jesus preached stories about the Good Samaritan and the Rich Man and Lazarus, which tells people to do good works and live righteously otherwise they will be damned.
YOU - twist it to mean that Jesus was speaking of himself as the Good Samaritan and you ignore the story of the Rich Man
3. Jesus told in great detail who enters the Kingdom of God in Matt 25, and its all about good works and righteousness.
YOU - manipulate that test with the claim that it does not apply to Christians
4. Paul said many times that born again Christian Saints with the Holy Spirit MUST live righteously and do good works otherwise there is no inheritance in the Kingdom of God
YOU - Ignore it and fabricate new doctrines which claim that sinful Christians will eventually be punished but will still be given eternal life.
What is clear is that
- you disagree with Christ
- you disagree with the Apostles
- you hate doing good works
- you enjoy unrighteousness
- you preach disobedience to Christ
- your faith is dead
- you want people to follow you to damnation
@sonship saidBy far the worse kind of hardening is your type. You are hardened against Christ. Even those here who do not profess belief of any kind, are still very accepting to the teachings of Christ. Their heart is not hardened against Christ, and many keep the commandments of Christ. These people will fare better in the day of judgment, than you. Your opinion on this matter is nonsensical and contrary to Christ.
Maybe its for the sake of some who are destined to get hardened more and more,
so that they will be really hardened on that day.
For it is not by hearing the Law that people are put right with God, but by doing what the Law commands. The Gentiles do not have the Law; but whenever they do by instinct what the Law commands, they are their own law, even though they do not have the Law. Their conduct shows that what the Law commands is written in their hearts. Their consciences also show that this is true, since their thoughts sometimes accuse them and sometimes defend them. (Romans 2:13-15 GNB)
In Galatians the initial receiving of God the Spirit AND the continued receiving the supply of God the Spirit is by the hearing of faith. In other words as the Christian STARTS his spiritual journey by the hearing of faith SO ALSO he continues on his spiritual journey the same way, by the hearing of faith.
1.) The initial receiving of the Person of the Holy Spirit -
"This only I wish to learn from you, Did you receive the Spirit out of the works of the law or by the hearing of faith?" (Gal. 3:2)
2.) Now the continuing to be supplied the same Holy Spirit by the hearing of faith -
"He therefore who bountifully supplies to you the Spirit and does works of power among you, does He do it out of the works of law or out of the hearing of faith?" (3:5)
By faith I heard and received the Holy Spirit.
By faith I also hear and continued to be SUPPLIED the bountiful Holy Spirit.
Paul wrote that "the curse of the law" is something Christ has delivered us from.
The law itself that Moses gave from Mt. Sinai Paul says was good. But then how can he speak of the curse of it?
The reason there is the curse of the law, I believe, is that when the law comes it STIRS UP something of an evil rebellious parasitic like being injected into man from the fall of Adam. And this evil force or whatever it is on general principle reacts with negativity and rebellion TO the law of God.
The law activates this evil thing and empowers it to drag us down into sinning.
This is what becomes a curse. And in this way Christ coming into man as "life giving Spirit" is what delivers us from the curse of the law.
Everything is not said here obviously because this has to be short post.
The curse of the law is seen very well in Romans 7.
"What then shall we say? Is the law sin? Absolutely not!" (v.7a)
Paul says the law itself is not sin.
"But I did not know sin except through the law; for neither did I know coveting, except the law had said, You shall not covet." (v.7b)
The law came and caused Paul to know coveting. "Thou shalt not covet" seemed to ACTIVATE jealous, envious, greedy coveting immediately in Paul.
This is the tenth commandment. And it is commandment which no one can keep. It is a commandment against a feeling and attitude. No one can escape coveting. Even to covet religious success Paul as a Jew was coveting with jealousy and envy others.
The curse of the law, I think, is the law stirring up the rebellious THING in man's flesh to on general principle do against what God commands.
