@gertrude saidI have reason to believe that prominent torturer God ideologues here like KellyJay [and others including sonship who is no longer with us], when push comes to shove, do not ACTUALLY believe in the whole "burning in hell" thing ~ this is judging by their intellectual/social media behaviour. I think it's just toxic rhetoric that they quite like to brandish [at dissenters] while, of course, explaining that it won't happen to them.
not those in heaven singing their little hymns at the feet of their creator
you made it to heaven
f'd the rest
@gertrude saidWell Jesus took on all of your guilt and shame because of the love God has for you. What you do with that is not up to singers in heaven just you and Jesus here on earth while you are here.

hard to reconcile the terrible suffering with a loving god
@gertrude saidOur first one passed away 13 days past her first birthday, I am aware of children suffering. The loving kindness of God surpasses what can happen in this life, the peace that Jesus gives us is not like the world where it is dependent upon the outcome.

but you base everything on a belief not a fact
@gertrude saidand ...?
sorry about your loss
but you base everything on a belief not a fact
What is wrong with basing everything on a belief instead of a fact?
There are plenty of people in the world (and this forum) who base everything on facts. How is that working out for them? For some good and others not so much?
How about those who base their lives on beliefs? Pretty much the same? For some good and others not so much?
@gertrude saidThank you

What we went through is as factual as it gets, and I am telling you God’s grace and peace are real and can be experienced in the here and now. If it were only a by and by hope that it happens after death then you would have a point. There are many godless people professing god, even within Christianity which is a great shame, for them it’s all do this or that, accept this or that. They do not have a living Hope which is Christ in our lives.
@gertrude saidMy my - you're just a special little ray of sunshine, aren't you?

FYI - A slightly different belief system would do you a world of good (not to mention an attitude adjustment)
@gertrude saidThat isn’t what the bible says my friend. There are those who you correctly identify as going to heaven. There are those that don’t make it anywhere and so their eventuality is the grave. Then there is a third group referenced at both Matthew 5:5 and proverbs 37:11 - they are the meek who inherit the earth; it isn’t heaven or bust.

@mchill saidOur Tinkertoys of thought operate on a rather particular and micro scale when considered in the context of Ineffable Cosmic Reality.
