@eladar saidThe gospels are cast in stone. They tell of the teachings of Jesus Christ.
If you like the book how would you classify yourself? If you do not consider it a holy scripture, (actually holy, not just equal to books in the Bible) then why do you like it?
What is it to you?
I am a traditional Christian so consider it trash. Just wondering what kinds of people like it.
Jesus Christ is about eternal life.
Anything else is just entertainment.
@dj2becker saidJesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. Jesus said in crystal clear untwistable language that it is those who follow and adhere to His teachings and commandments will enter the Kingdom of God.
Why would you think the book of Romans for example is just for entertainment?
The writings of the Apostles say the same thing, but of course you have to read what they wrote in its entirety instead of cherry pick, and I know that your church does not permit that. Eg in your recent sermon Peter and Judas, you ended with the statement that you are saved by grace and not works but neglected to mention that Christian saints who are saved by grace, must still do good works and live righteously otherwise they will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Clearly your sermon is misleading to those who do not know better. [A very grave sin on your part by the way].
For me the writings of the Apostles are just entertainment. For some others who rather listen to the church interpretation of the Apostles, they are a stumbling block which turn then away from the kingdom of God. For the early Christian church who Paul wrote to they will have read and understood it all and will follow after righteousness and good works.
@eladar saidI have read a lot of these texts and I have not come across anything that contradicts what Jesus preached about good works and righteousness as the way to the Kingdom of God. I am interested in nothing else. So it has no weight at least for me.
So you do not believe they carry much weight.

@rajk999 saidBut nothing written by Apostles are actually important unto themselves.

@bigdoggproblem saidIt does not matter. It is not part of the Bible. You might as well ask me if I have read the Iliad to see if I believe it is on equal terms as the Bible.
Have you read it?
