The 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event was won by Jerry Yang
who continually invoked the power of Jesus and thanked, praised and rejoiced in the power of the Lord as he powered through the final table.

Now that's what Christianity is all about.

Praise Jesus, it's true.

"Every time I would go to the bathroom, I would kneel down in front of that stinky toilet and pray. I truly give all the glory to God."

It's often said that the difference between praying in church and praying in poker is that in poker, you really mean it.

There's a double meaning there.

I believe Jesus spoke the Truth: live a life of love, compassion, justice, etc. simply for the righteousness of it.

Christianity, however seems to have taken a wrong path along the way. Instead of focusing on following the teachings of Jesus, it seems to focus on what one gets, be it 'eternal life' or wordly things such as money, fame, fortune, etc. While Jesus encourages overcoming the desires of the self, Christianity seems to be largely built upon selfish motivations.

I am sure glad that I have spent my days looking for positive examples of Christian discipleship rather than hunted out the frivolous.

I have invested the little time I have here on earth to hunt for disciples Christ who are mature and maturing. I have looked for those who would help my faith rather than those who would hurt my faith.

What a waste of one's life to be always hunting for the frivolous in order to reinforce one's logic to not live unto God.

I really feel sorry for such people.

I love epsiode 25 part 3.

About 3.5 minutes into it, Lee Watkinson goes all in against Jerry Yang. Jerry Yang is praying to Jesus for the hand. Lee's wife (girlfriend?) is quoting scripture and asking God to "make Lee a believer."

Tough day at the office for the big guy in the sky.

Pray tell, why don't you flush out for us what Christianity is 'supposed to be' about?

This is priceless. A good "flush[ing] out" could very well be what it needs 🙂

Don't just sit there with a straight face. Get to flushing or just keep moving down the river. In this full house, we don't need another joker.
