How many athletes have competed in two or more top-level professional sports leagues, either at the same time or successively? I can only think of two off hand, Deon Sanders and Bo Jackson. I'm pretty sure Jordan played in the minors when he retired, so he doesn't count.

Pretty interesting! Anyone know how those guys handled playing in two leagues at the same time? I'm thinking about how their contracts would have been negotiated - as a team owner, if I'm paying for a player's services don't I want to be able to use that player as needed? What about overlap between regular seasons/playoffs in both leagues?

Also, has anyone ever been a triple threat (playing in three leagues)?

Yep. Mark Hendrickson of the Blue Jays apparently used to play in the NBA too. Didn't know that.
