Despite very indifferent performances.. all the English teams are through to the Q-F in the champion’s league. (well Arsenal are 1-1 at the mo!)
What does that say about the other European leagues?
The ENGLISH PREM LEAGUE IS STILL THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD!!!

EDIT: AC MILAN beat Celtic 1 - 0 (1 - 0 agg.). Kaka scores in extra time (93 min). AC Milan go through.

Still it should be better than it is.

But be honest a few years ago spanish football was way better. Before that the Italians ruled.
Maybe in the early 80's we were top for a while.
Currently our top four teams have great managers with huge budgets.

Originally posted by EsotericAlso, the "only three foreigners" rule hit British clubs really hard, seeing as Welsh, Scots and Irish were all considered foreign.
Ahh good point actually.
United at the time had Schmeichel, Keane, Irwin, Giggs, Cantona, Kanchelskis and Mark Hughes (If memory serves me), only three of whom could play. I remember Schmeichel getting dropped against Barcelona due to this ridiculous rule. I believe that was scrapped around '96.

The German league was considered strong, but at present it's not very strong at all.....still the best league for a day out at the footy though.....the best beer, great atmosphere, terraces......much better than English premiership for a fan
