Debate about calls? Yes! Arguing about games? Yes! Threatening refs to point of needing police protection? Hell no. That's what's wrong with sports!

What was wrong with sports again? That they turn newcomers into zealots overnight if there's national pride, money or alcohol involved?

A true football fan handle bad calls by yelling suggestions to other places the ref can stick his whistle, get another beer and move along--if you're British you can throw a bottle or a fist in between the yell and the moving along part.

Hooliganism. That's what's wrong. How about the Mexican players surrounding the linesman of their game and taking swats at him? FIFA suspends players for flimsy yellow cards, yet fails to take action against hooliganism, rabid, out of control players in non-game situations and such.

What did you want them to do? Sit back and relax while the opponent scores goals in offside position? Such a bad call is enough to demoralize a team to the point of giving the ball to the opponents striker or kicking them hard in the legs...

I want them to behave like men, not children. Everyone gets bad calls. Play on and try and get the goal back. England did just that. Failed but tried hard. You did not see them accosting the ref after the game and take swats at same ref. I hate sore losers. The game was not lost on the bad call. The game was lost on inability to contain a superior side.
