How will English fans excuse away their early exit?

in this thread, each poster will list one of the myriad of excuses English football fans will use to explain away their failure to progress out of the group stage of this years cup.

Example: "Capello isn't a good enough coach"

they'll still get out of their group by beating slovenia

england wins they go to 5 points and slovenia stay on 4. Algeria can only get up to 4 max so a win for england means they go through.

I really enjoyed the usa - slovenia match the other one was total pants

No excuses necessary. If they don't get out of the group (for the first time since 1958 I hear) it's because they didn't play well enough.

honestly, I usually love goading the english fans, but it has now gotten so bad that I feel sorry for our long-time allies.

Time to root for the underdog, I think.
