How about you make this general forum better and bring back sports, culture and whatever
else has been unnecessarily expunged from this now vacuous hellhole? (April 24, 2014)
Please post at least one or two opinions on "sports, culture and whatever..." to "this now vacuous hellhole"
general forum thread each day you're online making chess moves on Red Hot Pawn. Thank you. -gb

ESPN 30 for 30 - HILLSBOROUGH, Directed by Daniel Gordon
On April 15, 1989, 96 people died, hundreds were injured and thousands traumatized at Hillsborough Stadium. See the tragedy through the eyes of those there that day, many of whom spoke publicly for the first time.
It will be available online at Netflix Et. al. soon enough.
"sports, culture and whatever..." There you go Bob, all 3.
Also - if you like documentaries - Man on Wire. Excellent.

Hardly "slandering", dive. It's affectionate. Few weeks ago when I found the avatar we were have a lighthearted give and take in the Spirituality Forum. My last post of the day was a mention of the Grumpy Old Man to the effect that he would keep an eye on things until morning. "divegeesterville" I found in an online search with several hits over the past few years.

The Texas Rangers have gone into 1st place in their division and league after a 3 game sweep of the Oakland A's.
The AL Texas Rangers are in 2nd place out of all of the MLB teams only trailing the NL Milwaukee Brewers by 3 games who are in different leagues.
After tonight that could all change again since the Oakland A's are actually tied with the Rangers for 1st place.
darv did say "sports, culture and whatever..." so here's an entertaining poem by E.E. Cummings I hope you'll enjoy:
Nobody Loses All The Time
nobody loses all the time
i had an uncle named
Sol who was a born failure and
nearly everybody said he should have gone
into vaudeville perhaps because my Uncle Sol could
sing McCann He Was A Diver on Xmas Eve like Hell Itself which
may or may not account for the fact that my Uncle
Sol indulged in that possibly most inexcusable
of all to use a highfalootin phrase
luxuries that is or to
wit farming and be
it needlessly
added
my Uncle Sol’s farm
failed because the chickens
ate the vegetables so
my Uncle Sol had a
chicken farm till the
skunks ate the chickens when
my Uncle Sol
had a skunk farm but
the skunks caught cold and
died and so
my Uncle Sol imitated the
skunks in a subtle manner
or by drowning himself in the watertank
but somebody who’d given my Uncle Sol a Victor
Victrola and records while he lived presented to
him upon the auspicious occasion of his decease a
scruptious not to mention splendiferous funeral with
tall boys in black gloves and flowers and everything and
i remember we all cried like the Missouri
when my Uncle Sol’s coffin lurched because
somebody pressed a button
(and down went
my Uncle
Sol
and started a worm farm)

Don't make me report your posts.
You just can't wait for the death of the General Forum, can you?
