Pretty impressive.I expect his record to get worse once the opposition work him out. There's plenty of video evidence available these days and others will pick up on the slightest of faults and exploit them.
It happens a lot in English cricket.
I think technology has ruined professional sport. These days in cricket there's more backroom staff than players.

Good points, but things are a lot different now than in Babe Ruth's day.
My point was the technology today will expose any weaknesses in his batting technique or pitching shortfalls(I don't know how many variations of balls he throws).
It must be tempting for the Angels to use him as DH as regularly as they can without affecting his pitching. They must be careful not to burn him out.

I don't think I inferred that he was a failure or "maxed out".As you can see , I don't live in the USA and it's simply not reported in the British media to any degree of detail.I only watch SF Giants matches recorded on ESPN so I don't see the televised debates and I fast forward all the pre match analysis stuff. To "follow" more than 1 team would be too much t.v time and I adopted the giants for reasons mentioned earlier in the thread
The racially inferior stuff is interesting.
Is racism still prevalent in the U.S in baseball?
Is the same said about Venezuelan players for instance?.
I hope he does well for the sake of the sport in general.
Do you think he'd be more suited to the National league and bat say at number 8 as Bumgarner sometimes does for the giants?

    Very comprehensive analysis my friend.
You obviously know a lot more about the subject than I do.
I only took an interest after my son explained the rules to me while he was watching it one day just a few years ago.
He actually follows the A's and came to the U.S a few years ago to watch.
It'll be interesting to see what actually happens with Ohtani

Being a Reds fan I have to take issue with the Reds being televised on TV the other day.

I mean, who needs this kind of humiliation? It's bad enough a few dozen show up at the ball park to watch them play.

I take it we're still on baseball and you mean the Cincinnatti reds.
On ESPN which is the only channel in the U.K to show baseball they tend to give every team a showing.
A few dozen? Surely that can't be true
