Only one outfielder named Smith? (Seth Smith, Colorado Rockies)
Only one pitcher named Smith? (Joe Smith, New York Mets)

And don't EVEN get me started on the Johnsons. It used to be you couldn't swing a cork-filled Sammy Sosa signature Rawlings Big Stick black bat without hitting a Johnson.

I actually think it has a lot to do with the continual influx of foreign born players where you find more Ramirez and Rodriguez than Smith.

That many? I thought they tended to shrivel up when you start roiding.
