I believe he is talking about hockey each team gets a time out during the game if they want it, like to rest up guys that got caught on the ice.

Each team is provided with one 30-second timeout per game. The clock stops until the game resumes play.

You don't seem to understand the game lemon.

If a player is that injured they have to stop the game then he can not go back in the game. Also a player can be get a penalty for faking an injury! Probably stick to stuff you know about lemon.

may I expand?

Since there is no time-out in soccer players fake injuries.

And sometimes it surely looks like a miracle if a player goes down dramatically, the health team is on the field, sometimes he even gets carried off on a stretcher. As soon as the stretcher is set down off the field, the player jumps up and comes back seemingly completely healed...

There's too much incentive to cheat in professional sports these days, mainly financial.
Faking injuries is just one way to con the officials.
In soccer players are told to fall down if an opponent comes near in the hope of getting a free kick,or a penalty. If no whistle is blown, they are up again straight away.

I think they have pretty much eliminated that in Hockey where if a player does fake an injury, he doesn't get to return. If in the officials opinion it was faked a penalty will also be added keeping them short handed for a period of time. So faking an injury in hockey is rare, but does still happen, also has severe consequences.

Dives are also not acceptable and something the officials are watching for and if it is felt a player took a dive by the officials on the ice, he will receive a penalty. I am not as familiar with the rules in other sports to comment on them.
