I enjoy playing with this time control but find that 40 additional games (21 players) is too much to handle. Is there any interest in smaller sized groups? How about quartets, octets, or even splits (12 players in two sections) with 0 day timeouts?

I'd enter a zero day octet. Probably not enough interest to generate a banded version, so it would probably have to be open class. Worthy of an experiment, I'd say.

Also, with fewer players the timebank could be cut back somewhat from the usual 21 days.

I too, would be interested if the groups were smaller. Much smaller.

I also like the time control and the site says that to keep the pace moving the games will have an automatic timeout but I feel this should apply to vacation time as well as it means the whole thing has to wait for someone to come back off holiday and take off the vacation sign (or as I call it the 'so I won't get timed out whilst I sit at home sign). I'm having this in my present tounament.

I tried to set up the tourny, but it turns out that you can you create private tournaments with timebank only...

to all you folks who like 0 day timeouts - just added a thread to the site idea forum "enable 0 day New Games". don't know why this isn't in place already. combined with the available ability to play unrated games, this would be a great way to have stress free fun with rapid play.
