2009 Championship

Managing to emerge from such a group with no losses is a pretty spectacular performance, I already think tigerking would be a favourite in the final.

Summary state-of-play by Rd2 Group

Having finished my games in Grp 1, I've taken a rough skim through the other groups. This is my assessment of the likely outcomes as things stand, taking into account but not commenting on games in play obviously.

Group 1

Final target of 73 now set by atticus2 (+22 =7 -1). Group remains too close to call but favorites are Sealion and rhprhp. Sealion has it all to do though: he still has plenty of work to put in against most of the top players. For my part, I couldn't beat enough of the top players in a very tough group.

Group 2

Defending champion Gatecrasher looks to have too much to do. The favorite looks to be Ferreiraglenn but the dark horse is Dgbuckmeister. Another close race.

Group 3

Tigerking has won

Group 4

Mabizaf has won

Group 5

Il Mio is pretty much past the post; unlikely to be caught

Group 6

Cyberdonkey looks to be galloping on well. Undefeated to date, but still has plenty of play left against other challengers

Group 7

Three players currently tied in the lead, but Yrddraig is effectively out of it. Laurentmeric and Robbi neck and neck in race for the line. Both have games against each other to finish which might decide the final outcome. But currently too close to call

Yes, I missed him. But with a rating of 1800, a steward's inquiry would be in order if he wins that group.

I thought it was going to be backfrom1994 who would win it. There are quite alot of positions where cyberdonkey is worse at the moment, which he will have to somehow overcome to triumph

Looks like I gave Group 6 only superficial attention. On closer inspection, you're right: Cyberdonkey isn't going to clear every hurdle by any means. Too close to call is my fresh assessment - for what it's worth 🙄

I saw, in group 7 Aumonde was banned.
Wouldn't it be fair to stop the games of him?
He cannot move any more, so his games will end with a time out
by force. So his games could be rated as loss, immediatly.
( I am not talking about, why he was banned. Just the consequences )

maybe they just stop playing when they saw they were lost anyway.
