He might have been given those timeouts by default - the site has a limit to how long you can leave games unclaimed before it does so automatically. Also, mazbiaf was giving all his games up, so it would have been ok to take the wins there.

It would be nice if he does play it out - it will be a good endgame lesson for everyone to see.
