well.. he did claim timeout wins against mabizaf, so that would be inconsistent from his part. Guess, he'll just wait 5 secs before the midnight on Dec 31.

He might have been given those timeouts by default - the site has a limit to how long you can leave games unclaimed before it does so automatically. Also, mazbiaf was giving all his games up, so it would have been ok to take the wins there.

It would be nice if he does play it out - it will be a good endgame lesson for everyone to see.

Odds are that it will take some time ere the title of 2009 champion is displayed on anybodys home.

I bet Russ organises this tournament with the sole intention to ban its winner

And runner up too... it is a great way for the admins to trap engine users, like the way police used to catch the big theives by leaving valuable jewels on display in the museum - they just cant resist such a juicy prize and get caught red handed.
