Why not have some banded quad duels with only 4 people allowed in
each quad? As soon as it is filled start another. They don't have to be
grouped with tournaments wins, we could call them dual wins instead.

Wouldn't help. As the system is right now tournaments require intervention for round advancement or starting.

Why I wonder, once one of these is full it can start.
Everyone will play everyone else, the winner wins, no 2nd round. Possible for ties though, but who cares.
