I guess I forgot to ask for it to be duels but group size is 4, pairings random.

I cant believe the time out is 1 day 😠

It's somewhat out of style with 7. 0-0 being more common from what I've seen. I'm rather hoping to learn something from the higher rated players.


As far as the 1 day timout goes, my reasoning was that I want to see about 15 differnt thematic tournaments, and if we keep them short, we can play a reasonable amount of them in a year.The next one up would probably be the Winawer declined 5. ... Ba5 variation followed by a french exchange and then a Tarrasch tournament.

The more I play 7 0-0 the less I like it so Im hoping to learn some more about the poisoned pawn myself.

i am glad you did! if it was duels it would take forever to finish ...

duels, groupsize 2:2x2x2x2x2x2x2 = 128 means 7 rounds.
which would take years to finish.

groupsize 4: 4x4x4x4=256, 4 rounds.
maybe a year to finish.

groupsize 6: 6x6x6 = 216, 3 rounds
probably finished in a few months.

In case people need to make complete pgns, the first 7 moves are...

Typically blacks moves c5 and Ne7 can be made in either order (Weyerstrass seems to play Ne7 first).
