Internationals.

I don’t know if any one has ever suggested this before but has there ever been an International tournament

I know what you’re going to say that any one can change flags at a whim.

But can some programme be written to lock in the player while the International is in play.

What do you think?

You mean like the Davis Cup in tennis?

It might be good for a bit of fun but my country wouldn't even pick me to represent my local town, let alone the nation. Then there's the old problem of a British team or English, Scottish etc.

It could be done through clans, I suppose. There are already some nationalistic clans set up, e.g. French, Brazil.

... Swedish, Danish, Italian, Polish ...

It has been suggested previously...and people arguies that for example everybody is free to choose their flag.

And some people argued that it would be difficult to mnotivate the big guns (who would be the obvious choise for a national team) to participate.

The idea of a clan tournament between national clans is a very interesting one!

Now that private tournaments exist, this would be very doable. It couldn't be public information, however, because people would change their flags to get into the tournaments.

Maybe you could form a new clan e.g. Central African Nations clan and try and recruit members from neighbouring countries.

Countries with lots of members, like the United States, could perhaps split up into regions.

You could do it at rating levels also 1200-1400, 1400-1600, etc., etc.,!
