I used to resign pretty quickly, but since I just pulled of a stalemate in a hopeless position, I started to discover the advantages of playing until the bitter end. 🙂 It's not always a clear cut decision, I guess. Anyway, I won't keep the tournament from advancing to the next round just on a vague hope I might get half a point out of it.
I didn't mean for my post to sound rude, I'm sorry. It's understandable that your game is taking awhile, as both you and Johan have had preventitive personal circumstances. Additionally, you and he are in the midst of tight games. I didn't understand the persistance of some players in their tourney games, when it is obvious that they have lost.
