Quirine may be trying to finish Gatecrasher and take the 2006 champs for 405 points ... but cludi is doing a very fine job of racking up lots of points and closing that gap by taking on many large tourneys and regularly taking the "pot"s.
the high rated Akizy gains a little more ... tougher than it looks : see Game 472660 and Game 472679 ... but it is only a small tourney - Akizy can win bigger than this.

Only two rounds but that tournament began in April 2004! Getting on for 3 years. I think some of the Long Haul Duels may take 10 years or more. It might literally be survival of the fittest!.

Yes, I don't think I have the time to enter any long haul duels any more. Am already bored with the one I am in and it is still only round 1. It started 6 months ago and with only 64 players will be a minimum of 6 rounds so 6 years is a fair guess. If I resign my round 2 game before I move I assume no rating points lost.

why not just play!

but do not rely on the long haul duel to provide you with constant action - just the occasional (high quality)game.

my long haul games are definately occasional but are no higher quality than any other game. A good player won't find a better nove in 21 days than they will find in 3, or even in 30 minutes which is more than enough time to spend even on the most complex position.

I think there is a place for these games but it is only for those people who want to spent perhaps a day or two a month

I have no doubt he'll be in the final round. VERY impressive. Personally, I'll be surprised if I make it out of the first round as there are some strong players I've found in my group.

On another note, is it about time to increase the top ten to the top fifteen? I'm sure I'll be out of the top ten soon, being replaced by caissad4, rosaline, Peter9 or another, and don't want to be completely forgotten 😉

six months ago cludi and Quirine were 700 points apart ... they still are 700 points apart.

They have both earned about 700 points in 6 months.

Both players are in the late rounds of many tournaments.
cludi is also playing clan games.

Quirine might be touchable - but cludi needs to keep focus.
