This week we look at...
It is not really a chess puzzle book as in a real chess puzzle book,
its actually a chess themed puzzle book. I’ll show you what I mean.
I will give a solution to a few of the puzzles, not the word searches etc.
Which piece comes next in this logical sequence.
I never bothered with this 'find the pawn' puzzle.
(solution is at the bottom)
(my clue because shamefully I gave up. Famous chess player with their own club.)
A few are a bit too easy and obvious or badly worded.
er...I guess he means The Spanish but the correct answer is Ruy Lopez.
A pawn cannot capture a piece en passant. It only take a pawn this way.
Well that was fun.
The Vera Menchik Club was a humorous, except to those who became members,
club you joined if you lost to Vera in a tournament game. Some of the well known
members include; Euwe, Reshevsky, Colle, Alexander, Yates and Sultan Khan.

I made this one up after seeing an unsound version of it in another game.
You will probably see the main idea but you must get the 4th move correct.

Not uncommon to see won KP v K endings on here drawn. Two examples.

63. Kb6 or 63. Kc6 win. 63. b5 was played amd the game was drawn.
naleman - alexandrualeman RHP 2026
62. Kf6 is 1-0 but 62. f6 was played. 62...Kf8 and the game was drawn.
