Thank you for the compliment. As always you are correct. Leaders, many of them, feel it comes down to being lazy, or maybe their life is hectic, or they just don't want to put the time in. Not my problem. You want to win, work harder.
I'm not well but I put the work in because it's fun for me. Try working at it, it might be fun for you to. Oh and I believe more clans will be going for the win next year. Bish for one will be in it for sure, Al will be in it for sure, Metallica as well, and there are more clans that are not far from winning they just need to play a bit more challenges.

Win what exactly?A points system where a clan who play the most games finish near the top of a list which means nothing.
The clan system will not improve unless we create a league where the team with the greatest percentage of wins feature in a league table.
This would encourage smaller clans to participate.

I have listened to the same crap ad nauseum for years.
Cutting to the chase, if you aren't willing to work, you won't succeed.
Stating you don't care about the outcome places you as part of the problem.
For years they have been tearing the system down thinking the system was the problem.
Pretty soon it will be mission accomplished......system destroyed.
Perhaps that was the goal all along.

After 5 different System changes in the way the Clan Challenges are done people are still complaining. I believe it takes a lot of hard work, as you know and a lot of games to win a Championship.

I'm sure if Liverpool played 100 games a year and Arsenal only played 20 Liverpool would win the premiership.
Would that be a fair representation of Liverpool's success?
Do you think the same clans being top of the points list every year is good for the clan system?
Like many others I'm sure,I enjoy playing clan games and I don't want to destroy it.
I just don't care about the net points clan list.
I don't want to change the points system but would just like to see another way to interpret clan success.
I hope "fading fast" is not a serious problem as I have enjoyed sparring with you over the years.

Regarding the amount of challenges any clan elected to play, wouldn't you assume that was their choice to abstain from the rigors that would be necessary to win the prize? I don't agree with your assertion that because they chose to play less that they should be afforded some special consideration. Afterall, this is supposed to be a competition.
Since you seem to follow sports, do you quit watching if any particular team wins several years in a row? Furthermore, do you quit supporting your team if they are consistently finishing out of the upper tier?
As far as the points system, it has been changed no less that 3 times since I have been here. There has to be some way to determine who won. If not points, then what? You seem to be leaning toward winning percentage. If you do that, the need for volume would be moot, but the need to win challenges would mean it will become nearly impossible to set challenges because everyone will be acutely aware of their winning percentage. This problem only morphs into a system where you will see much less play. How is this better? It is not.
If you want to really put a choke hold on the system, Make it mandatory for every clan to play every clan before a second challenge can be played against any clan. That will choke the mule so to speak, and stop the blatant favoritism that has been exhibited by some clans for a while now. Again, you will slow play to a crawl in number of games, but it would darn sure put everyone on the even keel.
You can skew this any way you like (by you I am referring to the body as a whole trying to modify the game, not you specifically) and all clans interested in winning will modify their approach accordingly. Since you have known me for quite a while, I will say it again.....it doesn't matter how they modify the rules, as long as they are applied evenly to all. That being said, I personally think the idea of a tournament style of play is not desirable. If they want to play tournaments, they should go play tournaments in the plethora of tournaments offered on this site. To bastardize this format in that fashion just makes no sense. If clan chess does die on this site, then I know several subscribers, myself included, will cease to be subscribers and will leave the site.
