@Bish said@Bish,
As we are now creating challenges that will be completed and appear in the 2026 tables, has anyone heard of any potential changes to the Clan system coming down the pipeline?
Or are we just running it back with another season using the Net Point this year - most table?
I have heard of one change. Players will not be able to carry more than 20 players at a time. If they are taking on someone new, they will have to wait until that person is finished up all their games, before taking on the new person.
This will eliminate the carrying of 24 or 25 players as has been the case for some years now. I believe this will make things more fair for all clans.

@Bish yep we have now entered the stage when clans start dumping challenges they have already lost to avoid losing the points in 2026

I really see no need in dragging lost challenges into the New Year!!! Problem is many clans don't make enough challenges to actually do this. Better Clan management may help!!!

Why should I resign a game I am enjoying just because it's a clan game?
Should I resign games in tournaments as well just because the result has already been decided?
I think we agreed to disagree on clan matters some while ago so not a lot to debate.

We can differ on opinions on things. Clan games I look at as how ever many people in the challenge are depending on me, so I try to win as many as I can. I just personally don't see dragging lost challenges into the New Year when there is no need to do so.
I play hundreds of games just on this Site alone at a time. I have lots of Cups in Tournaments so winning or losing is not important to me. I like to experiment trying different things to see if they work or not against players my strength or stronger. Not to mention lots of 1rst Place finishes in Clan Challenges!

@Very-Rusty saidDitching games is not against the rules here so I can't object to it.However I don't have to agree with it.

In professional sport it is against the rules and teams have been in trouble for it.
The difference is,as in most things, money, which doesn't figure on here.

I don't call it ditching games in fact I am usually one of the first in a game challenge finished my games. It is pointless as I said to drag lost challenges into the new year and possibly start the year off in a minus games situation.
Ditching a game is like moving 2 moves and resigning or another example would be to not play in a tournament you put yourself in because you didn't want to play against certain people. Now that would in fact be called ditching a game and something I wouldn't agree to do.

@lstcyr saidA famous one that springs to mind was the Hanse Cronje betting scandal many years ago.
@venda Please give me an example of ditching games in professional sports. Losing a game to get a better draft pick is much different than this situation. I don’t know too many matches where when you’re guaranteed a loss and then have the option of quitting. Ryder Cup maybe?
There's been examples of similar incidents in other sports involving bookmakers although not all have been proven.
As I said to Rusty, there is no direct comparison to RHP because there is no financial gain.If players wish to sacrifice games to improve their clans position on a list that is up to them I suppose. To me,and to use Rusty's expression i think it is pointless
@venda I wasn’t aware of that scandal but I would suggest that it’s not the same. The scandal was about people trying to throw a match, intentionally losing. What we are talking about here is resigning to finish a match that is already lost. There’s nothing the chess player can do to win this match. It’s just the timing of the end of the match. In the scandal, they were intentionally losing.
@lstcyr saidI agree it's not the same.As I said,no direct comparison. It all depends what you want from the site and more specifically a clan.I am in 2 clans where the leaders send me 7:7 or longer games which I prefer to the 3:7's etc..I also ran a clan for a few years a long time ago.I also tried to set up fair challenges to give my clan the best chance of winning

I never have asked my players to throw games for the sake of the clan.To me the fun of playing is the important thing. The clan position on the net points list is secondary.
@lstcyr saidThe match might be lost, but if the individual games still have life in them they should be played to conclusion. It might not be the most tactical approach, but really should be the approach taken by lovers of the game.
