Epic fail.
The real champions are net points though as was voted for.
If you have a better idea try site ideas. But the last one posted there was rediculous created fron the mind of a complete idiot as you can see by the lack of support but good for the comedy element.
The clan you are using as an example are playing the way the clan system was designed for playing chess against players you dont normally meet in tournaments.
I would abolish the 200 rating buffer that would boost games.

also by eliminating negative points every game matters and is of equal value
it is a much fairer and competitive structure using gross points
it's just my opinion and I realize it will never be adopted
edit: under a gross point system, regardless of whether the challenge is won or lost, the remaining games would be counted.....EVERY GAME WOULD BE USED IN THE FINAL TALLY and by eliminating negative points, every game would carry the same weight
