Mozart's first collaboration with Lorenzo Da Ponte, a Catholic priest and worldy man of letters. We were just treated to a musical masterpiece like never heard before because of the acoustics of the new opera house in town. Every nuance and subtlety of the music could be appreciated and enjoyed. Graeme Jenkins conducted from the harpsichord like Mozart would have done in the 18th cty. The true genius of Mozart comes through loud and clear. The singing was more than adequate and acting superb. Anybody in the north Texas area should try and catch Cosi before it leaves and if not so lucky catch Don Pasquale, Donizetti's lighthearted comedy, starting this coming weekend.
