This depends on how old you are. Or how old I am. Or both.

Are you talking currently, or at some point in the past?

While it was on the charts, I don't remember any songs being played more often than "God Bless the USA" on the country stations, and for rock, I'd have to say "Band on the Run" was played a blue million times more than any other hit....ever.

Dreams was overplayed.

Stairway to Heaven was overplayed.

Someone Knocking At The Door was overplayed.

Karma Chamelion was overplayed.

Maria Carey songs are overplayed. Not a one has a memorable melody.

Paradise City was overplayed.

U Can't Touch This was overplayed.

There are more but I must listen to some music and clear my head again. ๐Ÿ˜•

First thing that came to mind when I read the thread title: 'I Will Always Love You'.

Many a song has been mentioned already that are greatly overplayed, however I feel Rock And Roll All Nite by Kiss takes the cake. Kiss even had the presence of mind to put it on like 10 of their records.

Were you alive in the 70's? Radio stations didn't play Kiss. Certainly they didn't play Rock And Roll All Night. Kiss established a following without much in the way of help from radio airplay. I know - I was there.

As I'm sure you're right, there's no need to compensate by playing the song ten fold decades later.
