How many "worthy" Canadians are out there?

Would Canada be a culturally richer place if only they were left?

Here's an analogy for you if you are having difficulty grasping the concept.

In Science, we find positrons, neutrons, and electrons.

In "Culture", Positrons are the people that produce culture.

Neutrons, consume and appreciate culture, and provide the necessary funding of course by buying tickets, sponsorships etc.

Electrons are the people that don't appreciate the culture, don't participate nor elevate the culture, and are otherwise cancerous to the culture.

So, removing a few electrons is always a good thing...but you do need the neutrons so a society built only on positrons would not function.

    Celine Dion's a positron?

What's the most flagrant Canadian kitsch available?

    Zero substance, as expected.

Chinese culture, Spanish culture, Italian culture, Argentinian culture, etc. were not built by "cultural funding organizations".

Until you grasp that simple FACT, then you have no idea of what culture actually is.

You'd love being a teacher in California then. The only thing they love more than children is politics - left wing only!

Italian culture is heavily influenced by the Renaissance painters who were indeed funded by "cultural funding organizations" of a sort.

    Right?

Gotta get rid of the dissidents so the peasants can support the nobility, eh?

    Right?
The decline of the Byzantine Empire had arguably more to do with it than the Medici, but I concede that point.

Still, how heavy is heavily? What traits of modern Italian culture can be traced back to it? Not that many. Of course, being surrounded by such quantity and quality of works MUST leave an imprint, but it might not be as important as one might think.

Oops - I meant what have they done for me lately, as in the people he listed.

(I'm pretty sure he doesn't care at all what the PFC thinks.)

Why do you think that is? Do you think I'm really any different or just frustrated with the status quo? Why do you think I made this thread? Do you really think I hate Canada?

What I think doesn't matter. All that matters is what YOU think and how I can make fun of it
