    One thing I've never understood about all of these competitions is why they always have to be settled by popular vote. I don't see any reason why shouldn't just dispense with the voting, acknowledge that Walter's Perfect Phucctoy is the best entry, declare it the winner, and congratulate Nordlys on such an outstanding composition.

    Votes, please. In order not to have this descend into meaningless populism, surely a metric rhyming luminary such as yourself should cast some meaningful votes.

    And in second and third place? In order to make sure no votes are missed, please clearly post which poems you vote in third, second and first places, by title.

    Thanks for reading!

    3 - The Woods
    2 - Hybiscus
    1 = Untitled

    Were you humming "losing my religion" when the woods opened up?
    Were you singing "baby come back" when the sole was soiled in jealous rage? Did you soar and plummet between exstacy and despair as redemption reared it's ugly head?
