Cartesian Sonata and Other Novellas by William Gass.

Does anyone else out there think he's hands down the best English prose writer around today? Cuz that's what I think.

Finished Steve Toltz's book - loved it. Looking now at 'Sea of Poppies' by Amitav Ghosh. Anybody read it? Is it any good?

Just finished Not Wanted on the Voyage by Timothy Findley. Think I might read The Wars by him next.

Philosophy of Science - An Historical Anthology

A selection of primary texts by the men that made science happen. The texts by Buridan, Philoponus and Newton are really worth the price.
On the other hand the usual ignorance of Islamic authors is really a downer.

Oooooops! I really misconstrued that last statement. What I meant to say is: "The usual act of ignoring Islamic authors is really a downer".
